Fredericton, NB – January 23, 2011- The fourth annual “January Thaw Equine Expo” raised $3,536.20 for the NB Children’s Wish Foundation. The $2 voluntary admission went directly to the Foundation along with funds raised through exhibitor donations and prize draws throughout the day.
Despite the abysmal weather the night before, hundreds visitors from across the Maritimes made the trek to Fredericton to participate in or attend the mid-winter equine event.
“We greatly appreciate the fact that our exhibitors braved the elements to get here and put on a good exhibit for our visitors. Their generosity along with that of our visitors helped to raise a substantial amount of money for the NB Children’s Wish Foundation,” said Karen Thomas on behalf of herself and Brenda Nason, fellow event co-ordinator.
Dave Hanlon, speaking on behalf of the Children’s Wish Foundation, said, “Without the support of individuals, businesses, organizations and events like this we would be unable to provide wishes for deserving children. On behalf of those children, thank you.”
